Krystal Koons

Krystal was born in Fairfax, VA, the middle daughter of three girls. She and the family grew up in Montgomery County. From early on, Krystal was into sports, the outdoors, and spending time with family.

Krystal attended Georgetown Visitation, one of the oldest continuously-operating schools for girls in the country.

For college, Krystal stayed in the area and matriculated at Loyola University Maryland. On June 19, 2018, Krystal was engaged to her fiancé, Patrick, at a U2 concert.

As a member of the Koons family, Krystal has always loved cars. Her first car was a sporty green Ford Mustang LX.

Krystal is an animal lover with two dogs, Tyson and LuLu.  Tyson, a Great Dane, has energy and love to match his giant size. LuLu, a rescue pit bull mix from ASPCA, is a gentle dog that’s very affectionate and playful.

After work and on the weekends, odds are you can find Krystal out running or in the gym working on strength training.  She also loves the great outdoors, often biking, boating, and fishing.

Krystal enjoys being out and about in the Annapolis area. Her favorite spots in town are Carpaccio, O’Leary’s Seafood, and Joss Café & Sushi Bar.

Krystal is also a big fan of our DC sports teams like the Ravens, Wizards, Orioles, and Nationals.

Krystal is instrumental in all of the charitable efforts at Koons Automotive Group.

Worthy charities Krystal and the Koons team help include Youth Leadership Foundation, Second Story, Homes for our Troops, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, Dreams for Kids DC, Our Military Kids, Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Washington, Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School, HEROES, Youth for Tomorrow, and Doorways.

In 2016, Krystal participated in DC's “Dancing Stars Gala,” a fundraising event that mixed the theme of the popular show Dancing with the Stars and supporting good local causes. The event raised more than $300,000 for local charities.

Krystal was a star that night, winning the Mirror Ball Trophy, along with an extra $10,000 for her charity, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Overall, Krystal and the Koons Automotive Group raised over $115,000 for the “Dancing Stars Gala.”

Just because her name is on the building doesn’t mean Krystal waltzed into the family business.

Krystal began helping out in the accounting department at 16 years old. She started selling cars during summer breaks from college, and entered the automotive sales business full-time after college.

Krystal has worked at many Koons locations, including Falls Church Ford, Easton Toyota, Tysons Chevy Buick GMC, and Tysons Toyota. Throughout her career, she has worked as F&I Manager, Internet Director, Sales Manager, and most recently as spokesperson.
